Rh incompatibility is a condition that happens during pregnancy if a woman has Rh-negative blood and her baby has Rh-positive blood. The mother’s blood gets sensitized against the Rh factor and may cause the mother’s body to attack the baby's red blood cells and limit the baby’s oxygen. With proper prenatal care, complications from Rh incompatibility can be prevented.
