Klinefelter's syndrome causes a male to be born with an extra X chromosome. This means that most males with the condition have two X chromosomes instead of one. Doctors are not sure what causes the extra X chromosome. It seems to happen by chance. Children do not inherit Klinefelter's syndrome from their parents.
