The TPN bags must be kept in the refrigerator. Remove the TPN bag from the refrigerator 2 to 3 hours before giving it. If you are adding vitamins, the 2 separate vials must be kept in the refrigerator. If you are adding insulin, the insulin prefilled syringe must be kept in the refrigerator.
