To prevent an infection, follow these recommendations: Make sure urine is flowing into the bag. The tube should not be bent or kinked. The drainage bag <B>must</B> be below the end of the nephrostomy tube. Remember, gravity pulls everything down. Fluid will run from a higher location to a lower one.
